Meet Nadia

Tell us a little about yourself and what you do to help find a positive state of mind?

I've lived in Geelong now for 2 years or so having grown up in Adelaide then spending some years in Brisbane's and Melbourne. I worked as a model and commercial talent since 1999 whilst studying anthropology and marketing and eventually moved into broadcast media for many years in radio and as a TV presenter. I switched careers and started marketing consultation after a stint on Reality TV (not something I'd ever recommend - it was CRAZY haha), this helped me focus and I found myself assisting building and growing multiple brands.

This led me to starting my own beauty business DIPD Nails an at home SNS brand that is Australian made and owned. I am also about to launch another brand called The Daily Brush. My partner, Glen is born and bred in Geelong and that is what lead me here. I love this regional city. Being close to the surf coast is amazing and I find it's a lovely community. I love the lifestyle here and so can quietly focus on the things I love like my family, business and self-care.

What is your favourite way to sweat at Upstate?

I absolutely love the hot room whether it's Pilates or hot yoga but since being pregnant, I've absolutely lived for the reformer. It has been so wonderful to maintain my strength with pregnancy safe modifications, keeping me active and healthy!

How do you keep yourself motivated?

Running multiple businesses keeps me very stimulated. I always struggled to stay focused in a 9-5 role. I love the dynamicity of running multiple brands, the challenges, the risk taking, invention and creativity. It continues to be a learning curve, which I love.

Tell us about your favourite piece in the newest Upstate Sport collection?

I love the new Play Up collection - the navy rib bikers are so cute and I live in the oversized sweaters in the grey marle.

Favourite coffee spot?

I'm a sucker for a drive through almond latte at bean squeeze but if I'm doing a coffee catch up or working at a cafe I love Box Office. I'm a sucker for their little booths and they make a great coffee too.

Favourite local eats?

I am obsessed with The Continental on little Malop St. The food is stunning and they have a great wine list- when I'm been able to drink that is. I also am a bit partial to fresh tempura prawn sushi rolls from Sushi 8. Super fresh and quick when I'm on the go.

Favourite podcast?

I've never been huge on podcasts however I find myself listening to Australian Birth a stories by Sophie Walker. I guess being pregnant as a first time mum, this has been so fascinating to me.
